How to check the history of any exercise
Open any exercise in GymTempo and review every set you logged — grouped by workout, newest first.
Every set you log in GymTempo is saved to your account. When you want to see how you progressed on bench press, squats, or anything else, open that exercise from a past workout and switch to History.
Before you start
- Sign in to GymTempo — exercise pages and history require an account.
- Finish at least one workout that includes the exercise you want to review.
Open exercise history
- Open go.gymtempo.app and sign in.
- Tap History in the bottom navigation — next to Programs, Templates, and Settings.
- Open a workout from the list — pick any session that included the exercise you care about.
- Tap the exercise name (or its image) inside the workout — for example, barbell squat.
- Tap History at the top of the exercise page. The URL looks like
/exercises/barbell-squat/history.
You land on a list of recent workouts where you performed that exercise. The newest training session is always at the top.
You can also open Details from the exercise menu (⋮) inside a workout — it goes to the same exercise page.
What you see on each card
Each workout block shows:
- Workout name and date — tap to open the full workout again.
- Every set for that exercise — weight × reps, reps only, time, or distance, depending on how the exercise is tracked.
- Warmup sets marked with a flame icon.
- Completed sets only — unfinished sets are hidden from history.
Load older sessions
The first screen shows your three most recent workouts for that exercise. If you have more history, tap Load more at the bottom. When there is nothing left, you will see End of history instead of the button.
Tips
- Use history before a session to remember your last working weights.
- Tap a workout card on the exercise history page to jump back to the full logged workout.
- The About tab on the same page shows muscle maps, images, and instructions from the exercise library.
A screenshot walkthrough is coming soon. Until then, the steps above are everything you need.
If something looks wrong — missing sets, wrong order, empty history after logging workouts — open an issue on GitHub. I read every one.
